I got a message from another business mum this week.

She said: “I relate to you more than you think… juggling kids, house, cooking, business… no supportive friends around…”

And I sat with that for a long time.

Because that is relatable.

I have a 4 year old, a 3 year old, and a 5 month old.

Some mornings I’m nursing the baby while making toast for the other two, while my coffee goes cold for the third time. Some days I feel proud of myself just for making up my bedsheets just before noon.

I come from an Arab background – where there’s a beautiful sense of pride in how we care for our homes and families. We grow up watching our mothers give everything. And somewhere inside, you carry that same quiet standard for yourself.

Not because someone forces you.
But because you want to. Because it’s love.

Reality is — family and friends are there, just busy with their own jobs and kids. And let’s be honest, they’re trying to hold it together too. My husband helps where he can, especially with the business, and I thank God for him. But the mental load? The daily weight of keeping tiny humans alive, fed, clean, loved… while also trying to build something meaningful?

That part is heavy.

And social media makes it worse, doesn’t it?
Mums running empires in matching pajamas, smiling, glowing, effortless.

We both know that’s not the full story.

The ones who are honest about how hard it is – those are the ones who save us. Because they remind us: we’re not broken. We’re not failing. We’re just in the middle of something really, really hard.

She said: “Seeing someone like you doing it makes it feel a little more possible.”

And that’s why I’m still here.
Not because I have it together.
But because maybe – just maybe – one mum will watch this and feel seen.

· Brother PR1055X – $15,999 / 10 needles / professional grade

The reason I’ve gotten them from Echidna Sewing is because I’ve had a really good experience with them.
